Itinerary
Day 1: Istanbul
Early arrival to the airport and transfer to the hotel. We will start our walk tour from Istanbul Modern
that is an institution for culture and the arts that relies primarily
on the contributions of visitors and supporter and on events to fund
its activities. Then, we will walk through Tophane which has been
gentrifying by artists and art galleries. Rodeo that is
considered one of the most exciting in Istanbul, displaying
high-quality art and an international, avant-garde awareness according
to the art critics, is the first spot in Tophane. We will continue to Gallery Apel which was established in 1998. We’ll walk up to İstiklal Street in Beyoğlu and visit Gallery Non
which is devoted to artists who embrace non-disciplinary art practices
– resulting in new languages and artistic experiences and Galerist
that is founded in 2001 and is pioneering contemporary art gallery that
hosts local and international artists in Istanbul. Both of two
galleries are located in Misir Apartmani which is a beautiful 19th century building. Then we’ll pass to SALT
which is founded by Garanti Bank and has a magnificent art space. Art
critics say that nothing like SALT existed in Istanbul. Our last stop
is PİLOT Gallery which is located on Sıraselviler
Street and converted from a former popular nightclub back in 70’s into a
700 m2 gallery. Free time in evening. Accommodation in Istanbul.
Day 2: Istanbul – departure
